Baton Rouge Vascular Associates - Our Physicians

Vascular Associates physicians are board certified by the American Board of Surgery. They hold memberships in the Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, and the International Society for Endovascular Surgery among others.

John D. Frusha, M.D.is a vascular surgeon certified by the American Board of Surgery in general vascular surgery.

He received the Doctor of Medicine degree from the LSU Medical Center in New Orleans and completed his residency in general surgery at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Frusha served a one-year fellowship in general vascular surgery at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts, and has served as clinical assistant professor at the LSU School of Medicine since 1984.

Andrew J. Olinde, M.D. is a vascular surgeon certified by the American Board of Surgery in general vascular surgery.

He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the LSU Medical Center in New Orleans and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Mississippi in Jackson. Dr. Olinde served a one-year fellowship in general vascular surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago. After completing his fellowship, he was in private practice for two years in South Carolina. In 1988, he returned to Baton Rouge and joined the Ochsner Clinic. Dr. Olinde became associated with Vascular Associates in 1998.

Albert D. Sam II, M.D. is a vascular surgeon certified by the American Board of Surgery in vascular surgery and by the American Board of Vascular Medicine in endovascular medicine.

He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Duke University and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago that included a research fellowship in cardiovascular physiology leading to a Master's of Science degree in surgery. Dr. Sam served a two-year fellowship in general vascular and endovascular surgery at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.
